Pagliara Law Group, P.A. filed a New Jersey State Wage and Hour Law and National Origin Discrimination lawsuit against Sam & Son Moving & Packing LLC on behalf of an hourly employee who is originally from Egypt and his employer tried to take advantage of him. The employer threatened and used the immigration status to not pay wages and never paid his wages on time and never any overtime. New Jersey law states wages must be paid at least twice a month or you could recover double pay check. No matter what your status is you still have the same rights as American workers.
The lawsuit was originally filed in on February 25, 2023 and is now proceeding.
The lawsuit alleges that Sam & Son Moving & Packing LLC and the supervisor/Owner did not pay overtime and wages owed on time and used the employee’s status to threaten and intimidate to not pay him for work done and tried to get him to work for free and stuck him with a bill for employer costs of renting a U haul for the moving job.
